Update: Court Issues Preliminary Injunction Against June 4 Presidential Proclamation
Dear Current and Future International Students, Scholars, and Recent Alumni,
Today, a federal court issued a preliminary injunction blocking enforcement of the June 4 presidential proclamation targeting Harvard’s international students and scholars. Similar to last week’s court order, today’s order further affirms that Harvard can continue hosting international students and scholars while the case proceeds. As we shared on Friday, both incoming and current students and scholars should continue with their regular visa application process (whether you're applying as a new student/scholar or needing to renew your visa). Please also continue to update the Harvard International Office (HIO) on where you are in the visa process through our online survey.
Harvard will continue to respond to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s administrative review of Harvard’s F-1 international student program. The University is fully committed to continuing to comply with the applicable F-1 regulations.
We welcome today’s news. We will continue to share updates with you. As always, please consult our immigration FAQs (which we will update shortly) or contact your HIO advisor if you have specific questions.
Sincerely,
The Harvard International Office & The Office of the Vice Provost for International Affairs
