DHS Subpoenas

July 10, 2025

As you may be aware, Harvard University received several subpoenas this week from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) seeking a wide range of information about Harvard’s international students. The subpoenas pertaining to international students, which cover practical training, student conduct, and disciplinary proceedings during the period from 2020 to present, are linked below. From what we can discern, the breadth, scope, and timetable of the subpoenas are unprecedented. The University is evaluating the subpoenas, and, as we have said before, we will comply with the laws of the United States and uphold the University’s policies. If the University determines we must provide such records that pertain to you, the University will contact you directly.

Thank you for your resilience as we work through this latest government action. We will continue to do all that we can to ensure that our international community can continue to research, study, work, and thrive at Harvard.
