Department of State announces expanded vetting for H-1B applicants and dependents
The U.S. Department of State announced this week that it will require an “online presence review” for all H-1B applicants and their H-4 dependents, beginning December 15.
Reviews of applicants’ online presence, including their social media accounts, are already required for F, M, and J nonimmigrant visas.
To facilitate these reviews, covered applicants will be required to set their privacy settings on all social media profiles to “public.”
