#  USCIS Filing Fee Increase for OPT/STEM OPT Applications

As of April 1, 2024, the USCIS filing fee for I-765 applications will increase from $410 to $470 for I-765 applications filed electronically. If your case will be submitted to and received by USCIS prior to April 1, 2024, the current fee of $410 applies.

This fee increase will directly impact May 2024 Graduates planning on applying for Post-OPT and graduated students currently eligible to apply for the STEM OPT extension. If you have already received your OPT I-20 or STEM OPT I-20 from the HIO, you are encouraged to submit your I-765 OPT or STEM OPT application as soon as possible. All applications received by USCIS before April 1, 2024 will not be subjected to the increased filing fee.
