Harvard Announces Plan To Absorb SEVIS Cost for International Students

In a letter welcoming international students, President Summers announced that the University would absorb the new $100 SEVIS fee for international students enrolled in degree programs at Harvard. This fee applies to all international students coming to the U.S. for the first time after September 1, 2004, and is intended to cover government costs for the operation of SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System.).
