Harvard affiliated housing includes apartments available to full-time Harvard students and employees. To apply, contact the Harvard Housing Office, (617) 495-3377, and request an application for Affiliated Housing. The deadline for applying is May 1, 2004 for inclusion in the first round of the lottery. Harvard owns about 2300 affiliated apartments that are allocated to students, faculty, officers, and staff of the university based on a lottery held twice a year, in early May for occupancy the following Summer/September, or in October for occupancy the following January/February. You should inquire about deadlines for the lottery because those who miss the deadlines have little chance of securing Harvard apartments.

If you do not receive an offer for a Harvard apartment through the waiting list/lottery, you should consider the possibility of securing an apartment through "immediate occupancy." Each morning any available apartments are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, alternating between walk-in and telephone requests.
