ITINS

An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN, is for tax filing purposes only. Those who are not eligible for a Social Security Number may apply for an ITIN, including dependents who cannot qualify for an SSN. A valid Social Security Number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is required to claim a personal exemption for your spouse and/or your dependent children on your tax forms. CINTAX will prompt you to apply for an ITIN if you and/or your dependents do not provide either a Social Security Number or an ITIN. If you have already applied for an ITIN but have not received the number in the mail, you should reapply using CINTAX.
