HIO Programs

Throughout the academic year the HIO offers information sessions for international scholars and their families called Getting Started. These sessions cover immigration-related information, as well as topics useful for those settling into the local area, such as banking, transportation, telephones, postal service, Harvard resources, health care, insurance, taxes, cultural adjustment, and resources for families. Getting Started sessions are held in Holyoke Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts. The HIO also sponsors several programs for spouses of international scholars.

Upon arrival, the scholar is provided with the HIO's flyers and information sheets on many subjects such as Massachusetts Driver's Licenses, schools for scholars' children, and English classes in the Cambridge and Boston area.
